NOMBRE CIENTÍFICO: Salvia officinalis L.
DESCRIPTION
Perennial woody base belonging to the family Labiatae.Tomentosa has a large hairy gray-green and its flowers are about 2 cm long, purplish blue and appear in whorls on spikes arranged little compact.
CONSITUTENTES
Essential oil (1-2.5%): α and β-thujone, camphor and 1,8-cineole. According to RFE drugs must contain min. 15ml/kg of essential oil.

Bitter Diterpenes and triterpenes.
PROPERTIES
Pharmacological Action: antibacterial and antifungal.
Anti-inflammatory action.
Astringent (stimulant of secretions and antiperspirant).
INDICATIONS
Excessive sweating and dyspepsia (ESCOP and Commission E)
PRECAUTIONS
In pregnancy and lactation consult their health professional if you use pure essential oil. Also caution should be exercised when using the essential oil in extended doses.
