NOMBRE CIENTÍFICO: Salvia officinalis L.

DESCRIPTION

Perennial woody base belonging to the family Labiatae.

Tomentosa has a large hairy gray-green and its flowers are about 2 cm long, purplish blue and appear in whorls on spikes arranged little compact.

CONSITUTENTES

Essential oil (1-2.5%): α and β-thujone, camphor and 1,8-cineole. According to RFE drugs must contain min. 15ml/kg of essential oil.

PROPERTIES

Pharmacological Action: antibacterial and antifungal.

Anti-inflammatory action.

Astringent (stimulant of secretions and antiperspirant).

INDICATIONS

Excessive sweating and dyspepsia (ESCOP and Commission E)

PRECAUTIONS
